Throughout Central Florida’s history, many accomplished artists have contributed the area’s art, culture, and landmarks. Three of these artists were men renowned for mastery of their crafts. Sculptor Lee Lawrie contributed to the Singing Tower at Bok Tower Gardens, designer Robert E. Locher adorned the walls of a fabled New Smyrna home, and architect Frank Lloyd Wright created 18 distinct designs for Florida Southern College. Join the History Center’s collections manager, Emily Coughlan, as she delves into the legacies these artists left in Central Florida.
About the Speaker
Emily Coughlan is the collections manager for the Orange County Regional History Center. Beyond her decade of museum experience, she holds a bachelor’s degree in art history with a minor in history from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, and a master’s in museum studies from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.
