The History Center is starting a book club! Join us for our inaugural meeting, as we focus on Zora Neale Hurston’s best-known classic novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Hurston, who grew up in Eatonville, became an important author of the Harlem Renaissance, celebrated for her compelling depictions of the lives and culture of Black Americans. She’s now considered one of the most influential American writers of the 20th century. We will discuss the importance of her most famous novel, its ties to Central Florida, and key takeaways from reading it.
