On exhibit November 3, 2018 – March 3, 2019
The Orlando Health system began in November 1918, a century ago, as a single hospital known then as Orange General. The first patient gave birth to a son in a candlelight delivery. As Orlando Health celebrates its 100th anniversary, the History Center is taking a look at how far health care has come. How did we get from candlelit operating rooms to the technically advanced health-care system of today?
This important new exhibit delves into the rich history of a community institution that has been immensely important in the lives of Central Floridians for a hundred years. Through compelling personal stories, images, and artifacts, follow Orlando Health’s growth and evolution into the iconic health-care system of 2018.
