Conserve. Preserve. Remember. Support.
The Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 28 this year, is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity for nonprofits around the world. Donations to the Historical Society of Central Florida can make a real difference in our community.
This year, your contribution helps support the One Orlando Collection Initiative, the History Center’s program to preserve the history of the Pulse tragedy. Since June 12, 2016, History Center staff have preserved thousands of memorial items to create a meaningful record for current and future generations. The immense scope of the project has required additional personnel, supported by the Historical Society.
Help us preserve their memories
To help us preserve the history of Pulse, we’ve set a goal of $4,000 for Giving Tuesday on November 28, 2017. That will pay for the preservation and documentation of Pulse related items for an entire month.
For maximum impact, give on #GivingTuesday
This year the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match, dollar for dollar, up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for U.S. nonprofits. Go to our Facebook page and be ready to give at 8 a.m. on November 28. Here’s a link. And please share on Facebook to get the word out.
Donate today: In case you miss the opportunity to give on November 28, here’s a link to make your tax-deductible contribution any time. We are grateful for your support in telling all of the stories, old and new, from Central Florida’s past.
