In honor of Orlando’s 150th anniversary, the Orange County Regional History Center offers a glimpse into some of the most fascinating and rarely seen items from the city’s history with our newest special exhibition, Orlando Collected. Since its incorporation in 1875 with just 85 residents, Orlando has grown into a vibrant and diverse community of over 300,000. Through the contributions of local historians, community organizations, and individuals, the complex stories of our community have been thoughtfully collected and preserved by the Orange County Regional History Center. These curated memories, photographs, documents, and artifacts weave the intricate tapestry of our city’s past.
As we mark this important milestone, Orlando Collected invites you to explore our city’s history through 150 items selected from the archive of the Historical Society of Central Florida. The exhibition has been curated in collaboration with individuals and organizations throughout Orlando, whose involvement strengthens our community’s connection to its past and reflects a rich variety of perspectives on its history.
Experience Orlando’s story as told through the objects and images preserved to mark our 150-year journey.
