Get Involved

The History Center could not serve 40,000 school children each year, create new exhibitions, bring nationally important exhibtions to Orlando, preserve 12,000 photos and postcards, maintain the research library or a run host of other services and programs without involvement from community members like you.

There are a variety of ways to get involved in preserving Central Florida History. We hope that you are already involved as a Member of the Historical Society, but there are many opportunities to support the museum through professional advisory committees, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships.

History Center docents offer their time and talent leading students and group tours through the museum.
Advisory Committees
Professional community members contribute to History Center planning as part of Advisory Committees such as Programming and Marketing, Development and Fundraising, and Exhibits and Collections. These dedicated volunteers lend their time and expertise to make the History Center a successful and effective community resource. Advisory Committees meet bi-monthly or quarterly and provide valuable ideas and feedback. For more information about becoming part of a History Center Advisory Commitee, please contact the Development Department at (407) 836-8590.

Orlando Remembered
The Orlando Remembered Committee is an affinity group of the Historical Society of Central Florida. They meet monthly and are responsible for placing small exhibits around the city that reflect the history and heritage of old Orlando www.orlandoremembered.org.
