The Serious Art of Make-Believe
From the Archives of Universal Orlando Resort
Through April 29, 2012
For more than 20 years, the Universal Orlando Resort Art and Design Department has helped to create larger-than-life environments for the resort’s millions of guests. Enjoy a rare opportunity to peek inside the creative genius behind the theme-park entertainment experience.

Discover how imaginary worlds of unique characters, objects, and environments start with the art and design revealed in this exhibition of more than 200 original detailed drawings, architectural plans, and models from the resort’s signature annual events including Halloween Horror Nights®, Mardi Gras, and spectacular holiday extravaganzas.

See scale models of scenes from previous Halloween Horror Nights; costumes from Mardi Gras and Holidays productions; and props, such as the full-size “Gog” pumpkin. Visit the “Art and Design Director’s office” and express your own creativity and become part of the creative team at one of the two drafting tables with hands-on activities for all ages. Young visitors can trace designs and color line art. Older children and adults can try their hand at drawing something of their own inspired by the exhibition.

Included in general admission.
